Each year, every Parish in the United States is asked to welcome a member of a Catholic missionary community to speak to our members about their work, to share the Good News and to help grow the Kingdom of God.
This weekend, as part of our Diocesean Missionary Cooperation Plan, Bishop James Thoppil will be visiting St. Joseph the Worker Parish to celebrate Masses and to speak about the important missionary work of the Church in his area.
Bishop James Thoppil is visiting us from the Diocese of Kohima, Nagaland in the Northeastern part of India. Bishop Thoppil is with us today to speak about an amazing shelter home that he and several sisters in his area are in the process of building. With our help, it is their hope to "build a shelter home for children affected by HIV and Aids or children whose parents have died from HIV and AIDS."
We urge you to respond generously to Bishop Thoppil's appeal and to keep him and those whom he helps in your continued prayers.
